Minutes from our C.A.R.E meeting held on 01september2009

The beginning of our meeting started out with Leighann Long discussing our recycling program with Person County. Some of the key points we went over  are, 1) coordinate our kick-off day with such suggestions as promoting through e-mail, fliers, educate campus. 2) strategize where the recycling barrels will go. 3) once a week –making sure tubs got to barrels for Person County recycling to pick up.Some other ideas we went over are fundraiser ideas. A few ideas were a yard sale, and a nature walk.

We also had election day for officers. Here are the people selected for positions:            

·         President-Katherine Riley

·         Vice-President-Megan McFarland

·         Secretary- Brian                Wright

·         Treasurer-Cheryl Perry

·         Public Relations and SGA Rep- Jon Talley

 We also went over the agenda for the upcoming 2009/2010 year. Several topics touched on were adopting a family for Christmas, and spring semester. On September 2 we will be having club day from 11am-4pm in the e-bldg. We also went over the conferences that will be held at Mitchell community college November 13, and Charlotte, April 7-10. Important information to remember is the workshops will be held at the conferences. At the conclusion of the meeting the new officers took a group picture which can be viewed on our C.A.R.E  website.
