Models of Service Delivery: Violet

1.         Read the following case study:

            Violet was a student in human services.  She enrolled in school as a single mom with three children, ages 3, 12, and 15.  Violet had served in the military for three years and was receiving funding from the Armed Services.  She still struggled to provide for herself and her family while she was in school.  Her eldest girl needed special medical services since she was a diabetic and had allergies.  She had been hospitalized four times last year when she experienced breathing difficulties.  Her 12 year old son had learning difficulties and psychological problems.  The school officials and the school psychologist recommend a special school for at least six months.  Child care is required for her 3-year-old while she is in school.
