This course covers the purpose, structure, focus, and techniques employed in effective interviewing. Emphasis is placed on observing, attending, listening, responding, recording, and summarizing of personal histories with instructor supervision. Upon completion, students should be able to perform the basic interviewing skills needed to function in the helping relationship.

Midterms video exams

You will watch the interviews and find at least 10 actions the interviewer did well, and five actions or areas in which the student can improve, and you will suggest potential ways the student can improve. Write the students name and your observations and email then to me (narins@piedmontcc.edu) on the day the student does the interview.  The comments do not have to be in a separate document; they can be in the body of the email.   Remember that this is a part of your midterm grade.
