1)       Today really sucks.  Nothing has gone right.  I don’t know why I bother getting up anyway.  Nothing in my life works.

2)      I’m really scared about this test.  I know I’m not going to pass it.  I study and study and I just don't get it.

3)      I’m so glad the sun is shining.  I love this weather.  It makes me happy to be alive.

4)      So my boss calls me into her office, and tells me to sit down.  I’m shaking in my cowboy boots and I miss the edge of the chair and fall on the floor.  I’m too embarrassed to get up for a minute, and I just lay there with my boss standing over me.

5)      I just don’t know where to start.  I have all this work to do and I just look at the piles and feel paralyzed.

6)      I’m not sure I should be here.  I mean, I really don’t need to see a counselor.  It’s my parents problem, not mine. They are so uptight.  It was just a little pot, anyway.  What’s the big deal?

7)      I did really well on my assignment.  The class seems be to be going much better now.  It really did help to talk to the instructor.   He wasn’t so scary when it was just the two of us.  In fact, I really liked him.  So, now I’m paying better attention in class and understanding more.  It really helped.

10)   Sometimes I fantasize about killing him.  I think about using our father’s gun and shooting him as he sleeps.  I’ve even picked up the gun a few times and pretended he was in the room and aimed it.  This was mostly when I was drunk, though.  I don’t drink now, too much anyway.

11)    You are not helping me at all.  I’ve been coming for three weeks now and nothing has changed.  I think this counseling is a crock.

12)   What do you mean, you can’t see me at my regular time next week.  That’s not fair.

13)   I think my boss is really racist.  He’s always complimenting the white employees and ignoring everything I do.  But if I complain, I know I will get in trouble.  The management is all his buddies, anyway.

14)   I want to tell you something.  But I am really afraid you won’t understand.  I mean, you look like someone whose never had an impure thought in your life.  How do I know I can trust you?

15)   God, what a day.  First my alarm doesn’t go off.  The dog pees in the house.  My car won’t start and I have to get my neighbor to jumpstart it.  I’m late for work, and my boss gets mad at me.  I left a report I needed at home.  I lost money in the vending machine.  I spilled coffee all over my desk.  Then I get a call from the school that my daughter is sick and I’m supposed to drop everything and pick her up.  I call my useless ex-wife and ask her to pick up our daughter, but she gives me some lame excuse about not being able to leave her job, and that I have to take care of it since this is my week to have custody.  I just can’t get a break.
