CARE MEETING NOTES

TUESDAY JANUARY 26^TH

ROOM B 101

Meeting was called to order by Katherine Riley- President

Katherine explained to all the new students what CARE stood for and a little about our organization.

We took nominations for the vacant position of Vice President: those were Brian Wright and Cheryl Perry. The students voted and the new VP is Cheryl Perry.

Toni Clayton was nominated for the now vacant treasurer slot- and she accepted the nomination. Since she was the only opponent she became the treasurer.

Our officers are now as follows:

President- Katherine Riley

VP Cheryl Perry

Secretary Brian Wright

Treasurer- Toni Clayton

Sga rep- Vanta Lambert

Member at large- David Caton

Kathy Oakley briefly introduced herself to the new students.

We asked students for help with our bake sale on Thursday and passed around a sign up sheet.

We are asking for donations for a valentines day basket that we want to raffle off on Feb. 10^th. Items need to be valentine or sweetheart related. Please give them to any CARE officer or drop them by Kathy’s office or Sheri’s if she has space.

We are also looking ahead at doing Easter baskets again out of milk jugs- so please save all empty rinsed out gallon milk jugs and bring them to Toni or Cheryl for safe keeping.

Katherine talked about interest in going to the conference in April- we need a estimated head count to book rooms and get a price for the trip

Lynette suggested that we do something for Haiti- some ideas are food and clothing drive, and personal item drives. Angie said she would talk to her contact at United Way about getting info on how to go about it.

Meeting adjourned at 11:30.

Officers meeting will be held Tuesday Feb 2^nd at 11:30  room to be announced.
