What is Interlibrary Loan (ILL)? Materials, usually print resources, which are not available at the Piedmont Community College Learning Resources Centers may be borrowed from other libraries. How long does it take for materials to arrive? All materials take from 7-10 days to arrive. What types of materials may be borrowed? You may request an article from a journal or periodical, but not the whole issue. You may request any book that the LRC does not own. Most libraries will not loan audiovisual materials such as videotapes. What is the process for picking up and returning materials? When the material you requested has arrived, we will contact you by phone or e-mail. When you pick up the book, the due date will be indicated on the front of the item. When you pick up a copy of an article, you do not need to return it. Failure to return ILL books on time can result in loss of interlibrary loan privileges. How do I request an Interlibrary Loan? The form is available online -- Interlibrary Loan Form (book) and/or Interlibrary Loan Form (article)
