Learning Resources Centers Information

The Learning Resources Centers of Piedmont Community College: 
  • Seeks to serve the students, faculty, staff, and the surrounding community

  • Is a part of the North Carolina Community College System

  • Provides materials and diverse services to all levels of students, faculty, staff, and community members

  • Provides instruction to the campus community to develop and promote information literacy. In order to serve the needs of differing social, economic, and cultural/ethnic groups, the LRCs also actively seek innovation and cooperation and networking with area and regional businesses

  • Is a media center in which all formats of knowledge are collected, organized, and disseminated, and where independent learning occurs

 

Mission

The Learning Resources Centers provides learning opportunities that enable students to achieve their potential and that serve the needs of different social, economic, and cultural/ethnic groups.

Goals

1. To serve Piedmont Community College and its community by organizing, managing, and delivering information resources and services

2.  To provide innovative library services that support information literacy for curriculum, career, and personal development

3.  To collaborate with college and community partners to serve a wide range of educational needs

4.  To partner with other academic institutions and consortia to promote and enhance access to library resources and services
